Adaptive high-performance welding overlay studies for high-temperature service conditions

The objective of the project is the study and definition of the most suitable welding procedures for the manufacture of structures and components in medium and heavy boilers, relying on Idonial for the necessary transfer of knowledge and support in metallurgical tasks and characterization of materials.
Idonial’s laboratories will provide specialized services to provide the necessary information through destructive tests such as macrographs, microstructural studies, hardness tests, chemical analyzes or fundamental mechanical tests in the different configurations established, and for the materials defined by Moreypi.
The work carried out in this project will allow the company to validate the welding procedures and homologate the welders who must carry out the manufacturing tasks of the equipment that the company manufactures in Asturias for its operation in highly responsible industrial environments.
The catalyst cooling equipment, in addition to cooling the regenerated catalyst, due to the combustion of the coke produced by the conversion of the charge in the reactor, will generate medium pressure steam. Reduced crude produces more carbon residue in the regenerator.
